New Dehli: To gauge the mood of the country, India Today has conducted a ‘Mood of the Nation’ survey in collaboration with C-Voter. The sample size of the survey was 2,06,826. While the date of the survey was between 1 July 2025 to 14 August 2025. During the survey, people were asked who is the contender for the post of PM after Narendra Modi? People have given their response on this.

After PM Modi, three faces were kept as contenders for the post of PM in BJP. The survey has revealed that 28 percent people have given preference to Amit Shah. In this way, he is seen ahead in this race from the public side. People saw the next option in UP CM Yogi Adityanath. 26 percent people have chosen him as the contender for the next PM. At the same time, people have shown the least interest in the third option Nitin Gadkari and he has got only seven percent votes.


In the MOTN survey, when asked who is the best face as the next PM, 52 percent people still preferred PM Modi. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi has got only 50 percent votes. In response to this question, 28 percent people said very good, 22 percent people said – good, 16 percent people think Rahul Gandhi’s performance has been average, 15 percent people think his performance is bad and 12 percent people believe that Rahul Gandhi has performed very poorly as the opposition leader.

India Today C Voter Mood of the Nation Survey has taken the opinion of 54 thousand 788 adults of all age groups, caste, religion and gender in all the states and Lok Sabha constituencies of the country between July 1 and August 14, 2025. Apart from this, analysis of the opinion taken from 1 lakh 52 thousand 38 people in the last 24 weeks has also been included in it. In this way, the essence of the opinion of a total of 2 lakh 6 thousand 826 people is now in front of you. These figures may have a margin of error of 3 percent at the broad level and 5 percent at the micro level.
