
Kushinagar: On September 3, police in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, arrested a 60-year-old man for forcibly marrying and raping a 15-year-old minor girl. The incident took place on Tuesday in a village in Nebua Naurangia police station area. Police said that the accused forcibly took the minor to the temple and put sindoor in her parting and declared her as his wife.
According to the police, while returning home from the temple, the accused raped the girl in the forest. After this, he also sexually abused the minor at his home. Police took immediate action on the complaint of the victim. Deepak Singh, in-charge of Nebua Naurangia police station, said that on the basis of the complaint of the victim, a case has been registered under sections related to rape. The accused has been arrested and sent to jail.
Police said that the minor girl is being medically examined. Her statement will be recorded before the magistrate. Deepak Singh said, “We are investigating the matter thoroughly and are committed to getting justice for the victim.” The police also made it clear that strict action will be taken against the accused.
