New Delhi: Security agencies have succeeded in arresting Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Shabbir Ahmed Lone from the Delhi border. Lone was preparing a new Lashkar module from Bangladesh at the behest of the Pakistani intelligence agency, the ISI.
Acting on a tip-off, Delhi Police and security forces laid a trap and apprehended him at the capital’s border. Investigations have revealed that he was on a mission to carry out anti-India activities based on instructions received from across the border. Investigating agencies are interrogating him to determine how many more of his associates are hiding in Delhi and surrounding areas.
Anti-India posters were put up
Recently, a Lashkar module was busted in Delhi and South India. This module had put up anti-India posters at several locations in Delhi and Kolkata. Delhi Police Special and Central agencies have achieved a major success.
He has served 11 years in Tihar Jail.
Shabir Ahmed Lone is no stranger to security agencies. He was arrested in 2007 by the Delhi Police Special Cell with heavy weapons like an AK-47 and grenades. Even then, he had direct links to Hafiz Saeed. He remained imprisoned in Delhi’s Tihar Jail until 2018. After his release, he became active again and began handling operations against India, making Bangladesh his new base.
