Prayagraj: As part of the ongoing crackdown against mafias and history-sheeters in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, another major action has been taken. Police have seized land worth crores of rupees purchased by notorious mafia Dilip Mishra with proceeds from crime. During the action, a formal announcement was made on the land and a notice board regarding the seizure was also posted.
Police claim that this is the same land Dilip Mishra purchased with proceeds from the criminal world. Now, the police have reached the land, announced the seizure, posted a notice, and legally seized it.
The entire incident took place in Silaundi Kala village, under the Kheri police station area of Meja tehsil area of Prayagraj. Land worth approximately 1 crore 11 lakh 24 thousand rupees has been seized under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters Act. Police investigations into the Gangsters Act case filed against Dilip Mishra revealed several properties allegedly purchased with proceeds from criminal activities. This land was one of these properties.
The land was not directly in Dilip Mishra’s name. According to the police, the property was purchased in the names of his sister-in-law, Pushpa Mishra, and daughter-in-law, Veera Mishra. Following the investigation, the police presented the entire report to the Police Commissioner’s Court. After reviewing the documents and evidence, the court ordered the confiscation of the property.
Upon receiving the order, the Industrial Police Station arrived at the scene in the presence of DCP Yamunanagar, Vivek Chandra Yadav, and carried out the proceedings. During the operation, the police made an announcement in the village informing people of the confiscation and posted a notice board on the land. In accordance with the court order, the Kheri Police Station in-charge has been appointed as the administrator of the property.
Dilip Mishra is considered one of Prayagraj’s most notorious mafia leaders. According to police records, he has a total of 54 criminal cases registered against him, including murder, extortion, intimidation, and the Gangsters Act. He is currently in jail. Dilip Mishra also made headlines when his name surfaced in the remote-controlled bomb attack on Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, a current cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh government. He is also an accused in this case.
