However, the surprising thing is that a large number of software engineers are being laid off. According to Bloomberg’s analysis, 40 percent of the layoffs in Washington are software engineers.

According to the report, Microsoft VP, Jeff Hulse had asked his team to use OpenAI powered chatbot to generate 50 percent of the codes. His team consisted of a total of 400 employees and when the layoffs happened after months, these people were the most affected.

After this, a question is arising whether these people have trained their replacements. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella openly talks about AI. He has admitted that AI is writing about two-thirds of the codes in many projects. However, those who lose their jobs due to these changes face a big challenge.

This layoff is not limited to junior coders only. Roles like product management and technical program management are also being affected by layoffs. The reason for this layoff in Microsoft is the increasing dependence on AI. The company says that it is streamlining operations by reducing management layers.
