New Delhi. Amidst the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Air India has taken a significant decision to cancel all its flights to Israel. The airline has suspended all services to Israel until May 31. This decision by the carrier has heightened anxiety for over 40,000 people. Air India has stated that, for security reasons, all flights on the New Delhi–Tel Aviv route are being suspended until May 31.
No Flights Until May 31
The airline took this decision in light of the ongoing conflict crisis in West Asia. The carrier has halted its flight operations on the New Delhi–Tel Aviv route until May 31. Most major airlines have similarly suspended their flights on the Tel Aviv route. Following the airline’s decision, the difficulties faced by Indians stranded in the region have intensified. However, some Israeli airlines—specifically El Al, IsraAir, Arkia, and Air Haifa—continue to operate a limited number of flights, albeit under strict restrictions.
With Air India Flights Suspended, How Can People Return to India?
With air services suspended, Indians wishing to return to India from Israel will have to travel via land borders, passing through either Jordan or Egypt. However, the Government of India is currently conducting an evacuation operation to bring back Indians stranded in the region. With the assistance of the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv, those stranded can facilitate their departure from Israel.
