New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has unilaterally announced the trade deal between America and India. According to the information received, America has imposed 25 percent tariff on India. US President Donald Trump himself has announced this. Trump said that this will be applicable on India from August 1. Actually, talks were going on between India and America for a long time regarding the trade deal. Now Trump himself has given information about this on the social media platform ‘X’.
Donald Trump says that India is our friend, but we have done relatively less trade with India in the last several years, because their tariffs are very high, the highest in the world. Which prevents America from increasing trade. According to Trump, India has been continuously buying military equipment from Russia, which is not right. Everyone wants Russia to stop attacking Ukraine, but India is continuously increasing trade with Russia, which is not the right step. So considering all these matters, America has decided to impose a 25 percent tariff on India, and this will come into effect from August 1.
It is worth noting that in the April-June quarter of this financial year, India’s exports to America increased by 22.8 percent to $ 25.51 billion, while imports increased by 11.68 percent to $ 12.86 billion. BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal said, “The Indian government will definitely take some steps on this. The Indian government can also talk to the US administration. After this decision, things will definitely become expensive. We have to study what impact it will have on the market.” He further said, “It is unfortunate that the tariff has been imposed. I hope the Trump administration will soon realize this and they will withdraw this decision.”
