Andhra Pradesh: Fire Erupts After Bus Collides with Gravel-Laden Dumper; 14 People Burned Alive…

New Delhi: A horrific road accident in the Markapuram district of Andhra Pradesh has shaken the entire state. A fire broke out in a private travel bus following a collision with a tipper lorry near Raivaram, resulting in the death of 14 passengers who were burned alive. Several other passengers sustained serious injuries. The accident occurred while a Harikrishna Travels bus was traveling from Jagtial (Telangana) to Vinjamur. The bus collided with the tipper lorry near a stone quarry. The impact of the collision was so severe that the bus immediately burst into flames and was completely reduced to ashes. According to preliminary reports, 14 passengers were trapped inside the bus and perished in the fire, while approximately 20 injured passengers have been admitted to various nearby hospitals, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

The district police and administration reached the scene and immediately commenced relief operations. Medical assistance is being provided to the injured on an urgent basis. Officials have expressed apprehension that the death toll may rise, as the condition of some of the injured is reported to be critical. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed deep condolences over this tragic accident. After obtaining details regarding the incident, he spoke with officials and reviewed the situation. The Chief Minister made detailed inquiries regarding the treatment of the injured and issued directives to ensure that the best possible medical facilities are provided to all those injured. He also ordered a thorough investigation into the causes of the accident and directed officials to submit a detailed report.

The Chief Minister stated that such accidents are deeply distressing and affirmed that the government would extend every possible assistance to the families of the injured as well as the kin of the deceased. He issued strict instructions to officials to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances leading to the accident. The police have initiated an investigation into the role of the drivers of both vehicles involved in the collision. This accident represents an irreparable loss for the families whose members were on board the bus. The process of identifying the deceased is underway, and the procedure for handing over the bodies to their relatives has been expedited. The Chief Minister has also indicated the formation of a high-level committee to monitor the entire matter.
