New Delhi: The Karnataka government has banned the use of 15 medicines and products including paracetamol (Pomol-650) and O Shanti Gold Class Kumkum. The government has found huge insecurity in the production of all these medicines, after which it has decided to ban 15 medicines and has instructed not to use or distribute these unsafe medicines and products till further orders.
The State Food Safety and Drug Administration Department has also issued a circular in this regard, in which it was told that the Food Safety and Drug Control Department under the Health Department had collected samples of many pharmaceutical and cosmetic products in the month of May.
The circular states that during the investigation, huge insecurity has been found in the samples of these medicines and products. After this, 15 medicines including paracetamol and O Shanti Gold Class Kumkum manufactured in Mysore have been banned. Apart from this, Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao issued an advisory on Wednesday, appealing to all stakeholders to immediately stop the sale and use of these items due to potential health risks.
