
Maheshwar: Dr. Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh has taken a historic decision in the cabinet meeting held in Maheshwar, the city of Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, on Friday. Dr. Mohan Yadav government of Madhya Pradesh has decided to ban liquor in 17 religious cities in Maheshwar, Khargone. Under this, liquor shops will be closed in 17 religious cities of the state from April 1.
The cabinet has decided that no other shop will be opened in place of the shops which will be closed. CM Mohan Yadav said that this decision has been taken in view of the religious importance in the cities of MP. There will be no liquor shop within a radius of five km on both sides of the Narmada river.
Ujjain is being made free from liquor due to Mahakal Jyotirling. All the shops here will be closed. That is, the area of Ujjain Municipal Corporation will be free from liquor. Apart from this, different municipalities and municipal councils have also been made completely alcohol free.
Complete ban in Datia-Panna-Amarkantak
Datia is one of the main places in MP where alcohol ban has been implemented for religious reasons. CM Mohan Yadav has said that alcohol ban has been imposed because of Pitambara Peeth. Amarkantak is the origin place of Narmada. There is a temple of Pashupatinath in Mandsaur. Mata Sharda is seated in Maihar, hence alcohol ban has been imposed here too.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while giving information about the cabinet meeting, said that the state is moving towards alcohol ban. We have decided that the state should gradually move towards alcohol ban, in this sequence a policy decision has been taken. For this, 17 religious cities have been selected in the first phase. In these, liquor shops will be closed in Nagar Palika, Nagar Parishad and Nagar Panchayat areas, and these shops will not be shifted to another place. This decision has been taken for permanent prohibition of liquor.
The Chief Minister said that liquor shops will remain completely closed within the limits of Ujjain Municipal Corporation area. This includes Mandla Municipality, Multai Municipality, Mandsaur Municipality, Amarkantak Municipality, Salkanpur Gram Panchayat, Barmankalan, Linga, Barmankhurd Gram Panchayat, Kundalpur Gram Panchayat, Bandakpur Gram Panchayat, Omkareshwar Nagar Panchayat, Maheshwar Nagar Panchayat, Mandleshwar Nagar Panchayat, Orchha Nagar Panchayat, Maihar Municipality, Chitrakoot Nagar Panchayat, Datia Municipality and Panna Municipality. The CM said that the policy of prohibition of liquor within five kilometers of both banks of Maa Narmada will continue as it is for now.
At the same time, in the cabinet meeting, the transfer minister will be able to transfer in his department under special circumstances. Along with this, the cabinet has approved the Nari Shaktikaran Mission. The cabinet meeting started with the song Vande Mataram. The cabinet meeting has been dedicated to Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. The statue of Ahilya Mata was placed on the table in front of the Chief Minister. Before the cabinet, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed Narmada Pujan with the ministers at Ahilya Ghat.
The cabinet has approved the transfer of ministers in their department under special circumstances. This arrangement will remain in force until the transfer policy is implemented in April. Under this scheme, if any widowed sister wants to make her life better by getting married, then she will be given financial help of two lakh rupees.
The CM said that for the farmer brothers also our government has decided that about 2 lakh farmers who depend on temporary electric pumps, if they give 10% amount from 3 horse power to 7.5 horse power, then they will be given the entire pump from us. In a way, electricity will become free. Apart from this, the CM said that yesterday we have given the gift of Doctor Bhimrao Ambedkar Setu in Bhopal. After this, another new bridge has been approved for Bhopal at a cost of Rs 180 crore.
