New Delhi: In recent days, there has been an increase in cases of bomb threats against flights. Just on January 18, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri received a bomb threat. Now, something similar has happened with an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Pune.
IndiGo flight 6E 2608 from Delhi to Pune received a bomb threat. IndiGo issued a statement saying that a handwritten note was found in the aircraft’s toilet. This note contained a threat to bomb the flight. The flight landed safely at Pune Airport, and all passengers were safely disembarked.
The IndiGo flight was scheduled to land at Pune Airport at 8:40 PM. However, it landed 44 minutes late at 9:24 PM. After the flight landed and the passengers disembarked, Air Traffic Control informed the apron about the bomb threat.
The apron alerted all concerned agencies and convened a meeting of the bomb threat assessment committee. The aircraft was moved to an isolation bay. A thorough search of the aircraft was conducted, but nothing suspicious was found. According to officials, nothing suspicious was recovered from the aircraft. The aircraft has been cleared for normal operations.
It is worth noting that a similar bomb threat, written on a tissue paper, was found on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Siliguri. Following the threat, the flight was diverted to Lucknow, and all passengers were disembarked while the aircraft underwent a thorough search.
