China is upset over the meeting of PM Modi and US President Trump

Now China’s statement has also come out on this meeting of Trump and Modi. The Chinese Foreign Ministry reacted to this meeting of Modi and Trump on Friday and said that no one should make China an issue in their bilateral relations and their cooperation should not harm the interests of any other country.

In fact, during the meeting between the US President and Modi in Washington, there was a very detailed discussion on defense cooperation. At the same time, in the joint statement issued after the talks, the two leaders reiterated that the close partnership between the US and India is important for a free, open, peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific region and discussed strengthening the Quad partnership among other issues.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that third countries should not be targeted in bilateral cooperation. On a question on Trump’s offer to provide F-35 fighter jets to India apart from strengthening defense cooperation, Guo said, “No one should make China an issue in relations and cooperation between countries or try to provoke bloc politics and confrontation.” He said, China believes that relations and cooperation between countries should not target any third party or harm the interests of others and should be conducive to regional peace, stability and prosperity.
