China, Pakistan and Bangladesh alliance is a threat to India, said CDS General Anil Chauhan

July 09, 2025

New Delhi: India’s Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan said in a think-tank program on Tuesday that India’s national security is under great pressure today on both external and internal fronts. He described the possible alliance of China, Pakistan and Bangladesh as a major threat to India’s stability and security.

He said that today’s global situation is very unstable, the whole world is moving from the old order to a new global balance. Amidst this change, the role of America is also creating complexity at many levels.

The CDS stressed that a strong and resilient economy is the foundation of any country’s national power. He said, “Economic and trade security is also an important part of national security. A strong economy is necessary for stable development and sustainable progress.”

Man to machine, machine to machine… CDS Anil Chauhan told how the next battle will be, this is a warning for PAK!
He said that security from external influences is possible only when the internal situation of the country is strong and its economic base remains stable.

Importance of social and internal security
General Chauhan said that social and internal security cannot be taken lightly in a diverse country like India. He said, “Our country is multilingual, multi-religious and multi-ethnic, in such a situation it is very important to maintain social unity. Internal security should also get an important place in the social security system.” He warned that if India is weakened internally, then external threats will become more effective.

Vigilance needed on China-Pakistan-Bangladesh alliance
General Chauhan said that if there is any kind of strategic cooperation between China, Pakistan and Bangladesh, it will have a direct impact on India’s security. He said, “The common interests of these three countries can become a strategic challenge against India, especially when the political situation in Bangladesh is unstable and its former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in India.”

‘Operation Sindoor’ changed the meaning of war
Referring to ‘Operation Sindoor’ in May 2025, the CDS said that this was the first instance when two nuclear-armed countries India and Pakistan were directly involved in a military conflict. He said that in this conflict India proved Pakistan’s nuclear threats false and it is a lesson for the world that no country can hide its actions by showing nuclear fear.

Upcoming challenges and preparations
The CDS further said that now the methods of war have changed. Wars are now being fought not only on the border, but also through cyber attacks, electronic weapons, drones, missiles and hypersonic weapons. He said, “The world does not have any complete defense system on all these fronts yet, so India will have to increase its preparedness at every level.”
