Did Aditya Dhar Steal the Story to Make ‘Dhurandhar 2’? Writer Claims He Will Take Legal Action, Says: “I Have Proof”

New Delhi: Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has sparked a new revolution at the box office. The film is raking in massive earnings and has broken several major records. However, amidst this success, a major claim regarding the film has surfaced. A writer has accused Aditya Dhar of stealing the story for ‘Dhurandhar 2’.

Allegations Leveled Against the Makers of ‘Dhurandhar’
Writer and filmmaker Santosh Kumar RS has claimed that he is the one who wrote the script for ‘Dhurandhar 2’. He intended to make this film with Aditya Roy Kapur, but Aditya Dhar allegedly stole his story and produced ‘Dhurandhar 2’ instead. He has also stated his intention to take legal action against the film’s makers. He expressed that he is deeply distressed by the situation.

Santosh Kumar has alleged that the storyline of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is based on a script he wrote in 2023. Santosh stated that he possesses evidence to support his claim, including his registration with the Screenwriters Association. He further added that he is now planning to initiate legal proceedings.

Speaking to the media, Santosh revealed that after watching ‘Dhurandhar 2’, he realized there were significant similarities between the film and his own script. He said, “You have all likely seen ‘Dhurandhar 2’. It is performing exceptionally well everywhere. After watching the film, I realized that it is, in fact, my own script and story. I wrote it in 2023 with immense hard work. I had pitched it to several companies because I was advised that if I wanted to cast major stars in the film, the backing of a corporate organization was essential.”

Santosh has claimed that he had presented his script to several major production houses—including Sony Pictures, Zee Studios, T-Series, and Dharma Productions—and had also attempted to develop the project with prominent actors. He states that he intended to cast Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role.

He further added that the script was formally registered with the Screenwriters Association in November 2023. He also possesses email records and other documents to serve as evidence. Santosh remarked, “I made a great effort and sent my story to numerous people. I am a member of the Screenwriters Association, and I registered my story there in November 2023.”

“I am filing a case against this film because, even though they may have produced a good movie, my story has been misused. I wrote this film for the sake of cinema and entertainment; however, they have turned it into political propaganda. This causes me deep distress. I do not want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. Therefore, I will do my utmost to make people aware of this matter.”

It is worth noting that, so far, there has been no reaction from Aditya Dhar or the makers of ‘Dhuranthar 2’ regarding the claims made by writer and filmmaker Santosh Kumar RS.
