Donald Trump threatens Iran again: Talks will end if nuclear sites aren’t allowed to be inspected…

June 24, 2026

New Delhi. A fresh dispute has arisen between Iran and the US regarding nuclear inspections. Iran maintains that no schedule has been set for UN officials to visit the nuclear sites, whereas the US claims that everything regarding the inspection had already been finalized.

  • Meanwhile, a plan has been initiated to evacuate thousands of crew members from ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, the Iranian President visited Pakistan, and two people were killed in Israeli firing in Lebanon.

A disagreement emerged on Tuesday between the US and Iran over whether Tehran had agreed to UN inspections of its nuclear sites. This dispute arose while the Iranian President was meeting Pakistani mediators and technical teams from both the US and Iran were holding talks in Switzerland.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that no timeline has been fixed for inspecting the nuclear sites that were bombed by the US last year. He dismissed a statement made the previous day by US Vice President-elect JD Vance.

On the other hand, President Donald Trump stated that if Iran does not agree to the inspections, he would immediately halt talks, although he also noted there was no rush to begin the inspections.

Iran maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, despite possessing enough highly enriched uranium to manufacture a nuclear bomb. Last week, a deal was struck between the two nations under which Iran would reduce its uranium stockpile and the US would lift sanctions. Both sides have been given a 60-day window to reach a comprehensive agreement. Meanwhile, the International Maritime Organization announced that a plan to evacuate 11,000 crew members stranded in the Strait of Hormuz has commenced. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad. This was his first visit to Pakistan since the conflict began. He stated that the US-Iran agreement makes no mention of the missile program.

During talks held in Switzerland, Iran and the US have formed separate groups to address issues such as the lifting of sanctions, the nuclear issue, reconstruction, and monitoring.
