‘Elon Musk Is Behind CJP’s Protest’: Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh Alleges Conspiracy Against India

New Delhi: BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has launched a sharp attack over the ‘Lahara Do Tiranga’ (Hoist the Tricolour) protest organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), alleging that the movement is being orchestrated at the behest of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk. He claimed that the protest was part of a larger conspiracy against India.

Speaking in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, Singh alleged that the movement was aimed at creating pressure on Indian institutions and undermining the country’s sovereignty. He also objected to comparisons between India and neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh and Pakistan.

“This entire movement is being orchestrated at his (Elon Musk’s) behest. It is a massive conspiracy against our nation. Our country is being compared to Bangladesh and Pakistan, and for the first time, a march has been organized with the intention of intimidating the Supreme Court. This has never happened before,” Singh said.

He further alleged that foreign business interests were fueling the movement to influence India’s internal affairs. According to him, some foreign companies want to operate in India on their own terms rather than comply with the country’s established rules and regulations.

Starlink Approval Row Fuels Musk’s Dispute With Indian Business Interests
The controversy comes amid a wider debate over regulatory approvals for Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, Starlink, in India. Musk has previously raised concerns about the challenges facing the company’s entry into the Indian market and questioned the competitive dynamics of the country’s telecommunications sector.

On social media platform X, Musk has also taken aim at Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, questioning the influence of major business groups in India’s telecom sector. Musk has argued that Starlink could help expand high-speed internet access in remote and underserved regions, potentially benefiting education, healthcare and other essential services.

Government Says Starlink Must Meet Regulatory Requirements
The Indian government has maintained that satellite internet providers must complete the required regulatory procedures before commencing commercial operations. These include compliance with national security requirements, spectrum-related rules and other applicable licensing conditions.

Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and the Department of Telecommunications have emphasized the importance of following India’s established regulatory framework for satellite communications. Starlink is seeking to enter a market where established players include Reliance-backed Jio and Bharti-backed OneWeb, both of which are pursuing opportunities in satellite-based connectivity.

Reliance Welcomes Competition, Stresses Compliance With Indian Laws
Reliance Industries has maintained that it is not afraid of competition and has expressed its willingness to welcome Starlink into the Indian market. At the same time, the company has stressed that foreign businesses must operate in accordance with Indian laws and regulatory requirements.

The company has also indicated that its own satellite communication plans are subject to the necessary regulatory processes. Singh’s allegations have added a political dimension to the broader debate over foreign technology companies, competition in India’s telecom sector and the role of regulatory institutions. However, his claim that Musk is directing the CJP protest remains an allegation and has not been independently established.
