Mumbai: An FIR has been registered against Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The name of 6 other employees of a car company has also been recorded in the copy of the FIR. This case has been registered by Bharatpur Police on the basis of a consumer’s complaint, there is an allegation of selling a car with ‘manufacturing defect’. Complainant Kirti Singh has claimed in his complaint that he had bought a car from the car company, but many deficiencies have been found in it. But no correction was made on it.
The company was also informed about the matter, Kirti Singh first filed an application (private complaint) in CJM Court No. 2 of Bharatpur. The court took the whole matter seriously and ordered the Mathura Gate police station to register an FIR in this matter. The police have registered a case under section 420 (fraud) and other sections on the orders of the court.
Kirti Singh, a resident of Anirudh Nagar (Mathura Gate police station), lodged a complaint at the Mathura Gate police station on Monday on behalf of the court. A case has been registered against him under sections 312, 318, 316, 61 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and sections 420, 406, 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). At the same time, investigating officer Radha Krishna said that on the complaint of the car owner, a case of fraud has been registered against six people and the police has started investigation.
Kirti Singh is a lawyer by profession. He bought a car worth about Rs 24 lakh in the year 2022. For this, he paid an advance of Rs 51 thousand and took a loan of more than Rs 10 lakh. While buying the car, the dealer assured that the car is absolutely fine, there will be no problem. But after some time the car started malfunctioning. Whenever they pressed the accelerator to increase the speed, the engine RPM would increase, but the speed of the car would not increase and the car would start vibrating loudly.
On complaining, the dealer said that this is a manufacturing defect and cannot be fixed. Instead, they gave a strange advice that whenever this happens, park the car for an hour and run it at 2000 RPM, so that the warning of the engine management system goes away automatically. Due to this defect, the life of Kirti Singh and her family was also in danger many times. But the company and the dealer neither replaced the car nor repaired it. Finally, being fed up, Kirti Singh filed a case of fraud against the company, the dealer and the company’s brand ambassadors Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. She alleges that these stars knowingly promoted faulty cars.
