ICC and BCCI furious over the deaths of Afghan cricketers, major action may be taken against Pakistan

New Delhi: The deaths of three young cricketers in the ongoing military conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan have shocked everyone. Three cricketers from an Afghan club were killed in a Pakistani Army airstrike, further escalating tensions between the two countries. Following this incident, the Afghanistan Cricket Board refused to play in the T20 series against Pakistan.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has now come out in support of Afghanistan and strongly condemned Pakistan’s actions, calling them cowardly. International Cricket Council Chairman Jay Shah also expressed grief over the deaths of these cricketers and condemned the attack.


Conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan has been ongoing for several days. Meanwhile, on Friday night, October 17, the Pakistani Air Force carried out airstrikes in Paktika province, Afghanistan. The Pakistani Air Force crossed all limits and targeted residential areas, even hitting some club cricketers. The Afghanistan Cricket Board said in a statement that three young players from a local club—Karib Agha, Haroon, and Sibghatullah—were killed in the attack, while several others were injured.
