New Delhi: US President Donald Trump is currently in Saudi Arabia. Addressing a program here, he presented himself as a peacemaker for ceasefire between India and Pakistan. During this, Trump once again made a statement about India and Pakistan.
Addressing the US-Saudi Investment Forum, Trump said that his government helped in getting ceasefire done to avert a possible nuclear war between India and Pakistan, which saved the lives of millions of people.
Trump said that after the peace talk led by Vice President JD Vance and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, relations between India and Pakistan softened somewhat. He advised India and Pakistan to have dinner together and claimed that his government brought about a ceasefire between the two countries by using trade.
His statement came after the announcement of ceasefire between India and Pakistan on 10 May 2025, which Trump presented as mediation by the US.
What did Trump say in Saudi?
Addressing the US-Saudi Investment Forum, Trump said that a few days ago my government got the ceasefire done to stop the conflict between India and Pakistan. I used trade on a large scale. I told both the countries citing trade that let’s do a deal. Trade. Do not launch nuclear missiles but trade in things that you make beautifully. The Prime Ministers of both the countries are powerful, very powerful, good leaders, smart. They stopped this war by listening to me.
President Trump said that I think they are really getting along now. Maybe we can bring them a little closer. They should have a good dinner. We have done a great job, averted a situation that could have killed millions of people. Let us tell you that on May 10, President Trump announced that India and Pakistan have agreed to ceasefire.
