Jharkhand: Bus collides with truck in Deoghar, 18 Kanwariyas die, devotees had come to offer water

Deoghar: A major accident took place in Jharkhand’s Deoghar district on Tuesday morning. A bus and a truck collided here. 18 Kanwariyas died in the accident. While 20 people were injured. Police reached the spot and carried out relief and rescue operations. The accident took place near Jamunia turn in Mohanpur police station area on the Godda-Deoghar main road.

The incident took place around 5:30 am on Tuesday. On receiving the information, Mohanpur police station in-charge Priyaranjan along with the police team reached and carried out relief and rescue operations. With the help of local people, the injured were sent to Mohanpur CHC through ambulance.

Bus victim of accident
Local people have claimed that more than 20 devotees have been injured in the accident. The accident was so severe that the bus was blown to pieces. Local BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has expressed grief over the accident. He said that 18 devotees have died due to an accident involving a bus and a truck during the Kanwar Yatra in the month of Shravan in Deoghar, my Lok Sabha constituency. May Baba Baidyanath give strength to their families to bear the loss.
