‘Kaanta Laga’ girl Shefali Jariwala dies, cardiac arrest at the age of 42

Actress and model Shefali Jariwala died suddenly late Friday night. According to reports, Shefali suffered a cardiac arrest, after which her husband Parag Tyagi immediately rushed her to the hospital. However, doctors at the hospital declared her dead. The news of her death has caused a wave of mourning among the entertainment industry and fans.

Her body was brought to Cooper Hospital in Andheri at around 12:30 pm, where it has been sent for post-mortem. According to the AMO (Assistant Medical Officer) of Cooper Hospital, the body has been brought from another hospital, so the cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report.


Meanwhile, Mumbai Police reached Shefali’s house in Andheri late at night for investigation. The forensic team was also present on the spot and a thorough search of the house was conducted. Although, no official statement has been issued regarding Shefali’s death so far, but the way the police and forensic team are investigating, the case is being considered suspicious.

Shefali Jariwala got recognition from ‘Kaanta Laga’
Shefali Jariwala won the hearts of the audience with her brilliant acting and her beauty. Her dance in the iconic music video ‘Kaanta Laga’ released in 2002 made her famous overnight. Shefali’s glamorous look, tattoos at many places, belly button in the waist, piercing and modern outfit made her famous as ‘Kaanta Laga Girl’. After this music video became famous, a new era of remix music started in the country. Apart from this, she had worked in many TV serials and projects, for which she was praised a lot.

Shefali joined Bigg Boss season 13 as a contestant. She participated in the show through wild card entry. Her behavior and love for others made her a favorite among the audience. Big Boss show is hosted by superstar Salman Khan. Apart from this, she participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye season 5.

Shefali has been a well-known name in Indian pop culture. The song ‘Kaanta Laga’ became a superhit all over the country as soon as it was released and she achieved glamorous stardom through it. The song ‘Kaanta Laga’ released in 2002, in which Shefali Jariwala was seen, was actually a recreated version of the famous song ‘Kaanta Laga’ from the 1964 film ‘Samjhauta’. This song was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and music was given by Kalyanji-Anandji. The recreated version released in 2002 was done by DJ Doll and the song was released by T-Series.

Shefali was from Gujarat
Shefali Jariwala was born on 15 December 1982 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Her father’s name is Satish Jariwala and mother’s name is Sunita Jariwala. In 2014, Shefali married TV serial actor Prag Tyagi.

She became famous after ‘Kaanta Laga’, then why did she disappear?
In a recent interview, Shefali told why she took a long break from her career after the success of ‘Kaanta Laga’. During the interview, Shefali told that when she was 15 years old, she came to know about epilepsy, after which it took her about 15 years to recover.

Last Instagram post
Shefali made the last post on her Instagram account three days ago. In which she had posted six pictures of herself. The caption read – ‘Bling it on baby’. Film critic Vicky Lalwani has confirmed Shefali’s death on his Instagram account. He wrote, Shefali was brought to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital on Friday. Her husband and three people were with her. The death has been confirmed by the hospital’s reception staff. The reception staff said, ‘Shefali was brought here in a dead state. Her husband and some people brought Shefali’. Famous singer Mika Singh has mourned Shefali’s death on his Instagram account. He wrote, ‘I am shocked, saddened… Our beloved star and my best friend has left us. It is unbelievable’.

Fans expressed grief on social media
On social media, fans and Shefali’s fans are expressing grief over her death. They cannot believe that Shefali will say goodbye to the world so soon. A user named Ashish Singh wrote, Shefali is the best actress, the best dancer, the best human being and the best Bigg Boss contestant. Another user expressed grief over the demise and wrote that Shefali was just 42 and she is gone. It is very scary that people who appear healthy are leaving this world so soon. What is happening? Life seems more fragile than before. This news is heartbreaking.
