Karnataka: Is Siddaramaiah reaching Delhi on his own insistence? Congress High Command Refuses to Meet

New Delhi: A show of strength and tension between the Congress high command and the Chief Minister’s camp is evident in Karnataka politics these days. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to arrive in Delhi on November 15th, but he has been clearly told that there is no need to meet the high command and that no audience will be arranged for him.

This time, his Delhi visit will be limited to attending a book launch event, after which he will return directly to Bengaluru without any political meetings.

The high command has issued strict instructions that no Karnataka leader or minister will be allowed to meet him. This ban is believed to be due to growing factionalism within the party, leadership struggles, and the simmering state-national politics.

An Attempt to Send a Message of Unity and Strength
Against this backdrop, MLA Raghavendra Hitnal of the Chief Minister’s camp hosted a dinner for camp MLAs and ministers at the residence of his brother, Koppal MP Rajasekhar Hitnal, in Delhi. This is being seen as a strategy of power and numbers—the CM camp wants to convey a message of unity and strength.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has traveled to Delhi for the second time in seven days to address the issue of vote theft. This visit also hints at ongoing infighting and a test of strength within the party.

What’s Going on in the Congress?
According to political experts, the Congress could face a leadership change, a cabinet reshuffle, or a new alignment of party positions in the next few months. The high command is currently avoiding direct attention to any faction and maintaining a public distance to prevent the possibility of major dissent or rebellion within the party.
