Lakhs of shoes and slippers piled up at the entry gate of Ram Mandir, people are not coming to take them back due to the new rule

March 03, 2025

Ayodhya: Municipal Corporation officials are facing a unique problem due to the crowd gathering for the last one and a half months to visit Lord Ram in Ayodhya. Some rules have been changed here due to crowd management. Due to this, many devotees are not coming to collect their deposited shoes and slippers.

Now removing them is a challenge for the administration. According to Municipal Corporation officials, lakhs of shoes and slippers are accumulating at the entrance of the temple every day, which are being collected by JCB machines and loaded into trolleys and dumped at a place 4-5 kilometers away.

According to a news agency, devotees are asked to deposit their shoes and slippers at the main entrance of the temple (Gate No. 1), which is located on Ram Path. After walking around half a kilometer in the temple premises, devotees can return to the same gate and get their shoes and slippers.

Due to the crowd, devotees are leaving their shoes and slippers and going away

To control the crowd, the Ayodhya administration has instructed the devotees to exit from Gate No. 3 and other gates. Due to this, they have to cover a distance of 5-6 kilometers to get their shoes and slippers. Due to this, many devotees leave their shoes and slippers there and go barefoot.

Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Anil Mishra said that the number of devotees has increased due to the Maha Kumbh. Changes have been made in the arrangements in the last 30 days, so that the unexpectedly surging crowd of devotees can get easy darshan without any chaos.

He said, Gate No. 3 of the temple complex has been opened. After visiting the temple, devotees are being given a way out of this gate. After darshan, devotees move forward through Shri Ram Hospital. Since there is a one-way route on Ram Path, devotees have to walk 5-6 kilometers to get their shoes and slippers.
