Meanwhile, many Indian citizens stranded in the Middle East have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help through social media and video messages. They say they traveled to these countries for work but are now trapped in the war. Many Indian workers, students, and professionals said their flights have been canceled and they are unable to return home.
Indian citizens appeal to PM Modi
Indian citizens made an emotional appeal, saying, “Modi ji, please save us.” The situation here is very bad.’ Some people reported hearing the sounds of bomb blasts nearby, making it difficult to stay with their families. Offices and businesses have also closed in many places, creating a crisis for livelihoods.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Ministry of External Affairs has taken immediate action. The Ministry has issued emergency helpline numbers and email addresses for several countries in the Middle East so that stranded Indian citizens can seek assistance. The Ministry has clearly stated that all Indian embassies are on full alert and the situation is being continuously monitored.
MEA advises Indian citizens
The Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indian citizens not to panic, stay in safe places, and follow the instructions of local authorities. Additionally, avoid traveling without urgent reasons and immediately contact the Indian Embassy or helpline number in case of any emergency. Countries in the Middle East that host a large number of Indians include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Iran.
Millions of Indian workers work in these countries in construction, healthcare, IT, and other sectors. The war has heightened concerns about their safety. The Indian government says that further strategies will be developed as the situation evolves. If necessary, special arrangements may be made to safely evacuate Indians. Currently, the government’s priority is to ensure the safety of all Indian citizens.
