Mohan Cabinet Takes Major Decisions: Wheat Procurement to Begin April 9; ₹590 Crore Allocated for Ujjain Airport

Bhopal: Several key decisions were ratified during the meeting of the Mohan Cabinet held today in Madhya Pradesh. Following the meeting, Cabinet Minister Chetan Kashyap briefed the media regarding these decisions. He announced that a special state-level event to mark Ambedkar Jayanti will be held in Bhind from April 8 to April 14.

Priority Procurement for Small Farmers’ Whea
Wheat procurement will now commence on April 9, rather than the previously scheduled April 10. The government will prioritize the procurement of wheat from small farmers. Compared to last year, 350,000 more farmers have registered for the procurement process. Gunny bags (sacks) required for wheat procurement are available across all districts. The Cabinet expressed its gratitude to Union Minister Gadkari for the construction of a 22-kilometer stretch of NH-46, a project valued at ₹758 crore. The Cabinet also expressed its appreciation for the Central Government’s approval of a bypass and a four-lane road project worth ₹631 crore.


  • “Mahanatya” (Grand Play) to be Staged in Ayodhya as Well
    Discussions were held within the Cabinet regarding the “Mahakal: The Real Time” conference and the concept of time calculation (Kalganana). Information was also shared with the Cabinet regarding the MP-UP Cooperation Conference held on March 31. The first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this context was signed between the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Mahakal Temple. The staging of the “Samrat Vikramaditya Mahanatya” (Grand Play on Emperor Vikramaditya) in Uttar Pradesh received widespread acclaim. The Mahanatya is now set to be staged in Ayodhya as well. Additionally, a “Vikramaditya Vedic Clock” was presented to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

    Approval Granted to These Schemes
    Approval was granted for a micro-irrigation project in Bhanpura, covering 3,500 hectares and benefiting 120 villages. This project is expected to provide irrigation to 77 percent of the designated area. Through the integration of seven schools under the FCRI (Financial Management Research Institute), a major center for financial management training will be established in Bhopal. For the benefit of farmers, the government will also undertake the procurement of gram (chickpeas) and masoor (lentils). The government has allocated ₹3,175 crore for this purpose.

    Scheduled Caste (SC) students pursuing higher education in Delhi will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000. Under the “UDAN” scheme, the Central Government will undertake the construction of an airport in Ujjain at a cost of ₹590 crore. Approval has been granted for the continuation of commercial tax schemes worth ₹2,952 crore. 25 percent of the total gram production will be procured, while 100 percent of the lentil production will be procured.
