MP: Female Cobra Found in Schoolchild’s Bag; Panic Grips Classroom

Sagar: An incident has emerged from the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh that has raised concerns among parents everywhere. Imagine this: an innocent child arrives at school as usual, opens his bag to take out a book, and suddenly, a hissing female cobra emerges from inside. The sight sparked screams and chaos throughout the classroom. Children scrambled to escape, and within moments, panic had spread across the entire school. Fortunately, a major tragedy was averted thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of a teacher.

This shocking incident took place at the Chandpur Government Primary School in the Rehli block of Sagar district. According to reports, Bhaskar Ahirwar, a nursery student, had arrived in class with his school bag as usual. Shortly after lessons began, as he unzipped the bag to retrieve a book, a female cobra—approximately one and a half feet long and hidden inside—suddenly hissed and slithered out.

Upon learning of the incident, teacher Abhay Yadav immediately rushed to the scene. He first moved the children to a safe location to eliminate any risk of danger. Then, remaining calm and exercising great caution, he picked up the bag and carried it out of the school building to an open area. As soon as the bag was placed by the roadside, the cobra emerged. Teacher Abhay Yadav carefully rescued the snake and secured it inside a plastic container. It was later safely released into its natural habitat.

Teacher Abhay Yadav stated that had the children not been moved to safety in time, a serious tragedy could have occurred. Thanks to his presence of mind and courage, all the children remained safe; no student or teacher sustained any injuries. While an atmosphere of fear prevailed in the school for some time following the incident, the situation eventually returned to normal. Experts state that during the rainy season, snakes often seek safe, dry spots and may hide in places like homes, vehicles, and bags. Therefore, it is crucial to thoroughly check children’s bags, shoes, and other belongings before they leave for school. This incident is not merely a story of averting a major danger; it also demonstrates how patience, alertness, and sound judgment in a crisis can prevent a serious accident. Teacher Abhay Yadav is being praised across the region for his bravery.
