
New Delhi: The ‘One Nation-One Election’ bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. On this occasion, the Bharatiya Janata Party will send notices to the MPs who were absent in the House. The party will send notices to those BJP MPs who were not present at the time of introduction of the ‘One Country One Election’ bill on Tuesday.
More than 20 BJP MPs were not present in the House at the time of voting today. The BJP had issued a three-line whip to its Lok Sabha members on Tuesday to be present in the House. For ‘one country, one election’, the government on Tuesday brought the ‘Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill 2024′ and the Union Territory Laws (Amendment) Bill 2024’ in Parliament.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced these bills in the Lok Sabha. Amidst a lot of uproar in the Lok Sabha, the matter reached the division and after that this bill could be introduced in the House. Different voices of political parties were heard on one country, one election. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal proposed to introduce this bill in the House.
All opposition parties including Congress opposed this bill. NDA constituents like Shiv Sena and Telugu Desam Party were seen openly standing in favor of the bill. This bill was presented after division and after that it was sent to JPC.
