Opposition created a huge ruckus in Lok Sabha, marshals had to make security cordon for Amit Shah

New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced three bills in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday amid huge uproar and sloganeering. Under this, the Prime Minister, Chief Minister and Ministers can be removed from their post if they are accused of a serious crime and sent to jail for 30 days. As soon as the bill was introduced, the opposition created a huge ruckus and tore the copy of the bill and threw it in front of Amit Shah. The uproar in the House increased so much that the marshals immediately went towards Shah and made a security cordon for him.

Three bills – Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, Union Territory Government (Amendment) Bill and Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Amendment) Bill – were introduced in Parliament, the opposition tore the copies of the bill while creating a ruckus. The opposition is demanding the withdrawal of the bill. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was very angry when the copy of the bill was torn and asked the MPs not to do so. There was a little debate between Amit Shah and Congress MP KC Venugopal in the Lok Sabha.

Venugopal said, “This bill violates the basic principles of the Constitution. When Amit Shah was the Home Minister of Gujarat, he was arrested. Did he follow morality then?” On this, Home Minister Amit Shah said that he had resigned from the post of Gujarat minister even before his arrest. Shah said, “False allegations were made against me. I resigned on moral grounds till the trial was going on. I did not hold any constitutional post till the court acquitted me of all the charges.”

Marshals formed a security ring around Shah
As the protest grew in Parliament, BJP members including Union Ministers Ravneet Singh Bittu and Kiren Rijiju came to Shah and there was a little jostling between the opposition and ruling party MPs. Three House Marshals formed a security ring around Shah. Even after the House was adjourned, opposition members continued sloganeering. From the opposition side, AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress’s Manish Tewari and KC Venugopal, RSP’s NK Premachandran and Samajwadi Party’s Dharmendra Yadav opposed the introduction of the bills. They also said that according to the rules, the notice of introducing the bill was not given to the members seven days in advance and its copies were also not distributed on time.

Bill sent to JPC
When Premachandran said why is the government in such a hurry to introduce the three bills in the House? On this, Home Minister Shah said that Premchandran is talking about haste, but this question does not arise because I am going to request to hand over this bill to the Joint Committee of Parliament (JPC). The Joint Committee which will be made up of members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, members of the ruling and opposition parties and will consider it and bring the bill before you. The proceedings of the House were first adjourned till three o’clock and then till five o’clock. Earlier, the meeting of the House was adjourned twice on the issue of SIR. For the first time, within a minute of the start of the proceedings, till 12 noon and then at 12:15 pm, the proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm.
