Pakistan’s name will be on Team India’s jersey, BCCI’s big decision

New Delhi: Champions Trophy 2025 is to be played from February 19. This tournament to be played under the hosting of Pakistan will be on Hybrid Models. That is, Team India will play all its matches in Dubai, apart from this all the other teams will tour Pakistan.

Meanwhile, some reports were claiming that the Indian team has refused to get Pakistan’s name written on its jersey for the Champions Trophy. Usually the name of the country that hosts the tournament is on the jersey of all the teams. After which a new controversy arose. However, now a big statement has come from BCCI on this issue.

According to the rules of ICC, in all those tournaments which are being held under the banner of ICC, it is mandatory for all the teams participating in it to write the name of the host country and the year of the tournament along with the name of the tournament on the right side of their chest. BCCI’s new secretary Devjit Saikia has also now confirmed that during the Champions Trophy, BCCI will follow every rule of the ICC related to the jersey. That is, Team India’s jersey will have the name of Pakistan, which is the host of this tournament.

Recently, the Pakistani media had raised this issue and accused the BCCI of refusing to print Pakistan’s name on Team India’s jersey. PCB also wanted to take this issue to the ICC. But BCCI has now rejected all these news and has announced to follow every rule of the ICC related to the jersey.

Team India will start this tournament from February 20, in this match it will face Bangladesh. Then Team India will play its second match against Pakistan. This match will be played on February 23. After this, in its last match of the group, it will face New Zealand on March 2. After this, the semi-finals and then the final will be played. If Team India also qualifies for the semi-finals and finals, then these matches will also be played in Dubai.
