New Delhi: Three Muslim minors from France hatched a dangerous plot to attack the Israeli Embassy in Belgium but were apprehended. The criminal trial against the three boys began on Tuesday. They had planned to blow up a vehicle loaded with TATP explosives at the embassy’s entry gate. According to the plan, they were then to enter the embassy building with assault rifles and other weapons.

According to reports, the three boys’ plan involved first detonating a bomb at the embassy’s entry gate and then firing inside. These three minors were arrested in August 2023 for planning the attack. They were between 14 and 16 years old at the time of their arrest. One of them is a French-Algerian born in France, while the other two were born in Chechnya, Russia, and came to France at a young age.

The trial of the three is being conducted in-camera at a juvenile court in Paris and is expected to conclude by Friday. The teenagers have been charged with “criminal conspiracy with intent to prepare for a terrorist attack.”

According to the report, authorities became aware of the three when one of the boys began singing “violent Islamic songs linked to terrorism” in front of his classmates. This raised suspicious behavior and prompted an investigation. During the investigation, police discovered that the three boys’ phones contained links to several jihadist networks through encrypted messaging apps like Telegram. The investigation also revealed that the three boys spent significant time on social media, where they watched gruesome videos of beheadings and other violent acts.
