
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has touched another historic milestone in Indian politics. On 25 July 2025, i.e. today, he has surpassed Indira Gandhi’s record of being the Prime Minister of 4,077 days continuously by completing a tenure of 4,078 days.
With this achievement, he has become the second longest serving Prime Minister of the country. This achievement is just a milestone. At both the state and central levels, Narendra Modi has led the government for 24 years, which is a record among all Prime Ministers.
Prime Minister Modi started his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and has so far led the elected government for almost 24 years in both the state and the center. This achievement is not in the name of any other Indian Prime Minister so far.

His political track record includes leading his party to victory in three consecutive national elections, a feat previously achieved only by Jawaharlal Nehru.
