Russia once again shows friendship, Foreign Minister says, “We will support BRICS under India’s chairmanship.”

Moscow. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday that under India’s chairmanship, we will fully support BRICS and its agenda. In an interview, Lavrov said that India’s agenda is very relevant and logical in today’s times. It is related to terrorism and energy security. Lavrov said, “In my opinion, the agenda being presented under India’s chairmanship prepares for the future and addresses current challenges. We will actively support it.”

The Russian Foreign Minister said that India’s focus on counter-terrorism activities is extremely important, as many parts of the world are currently affected by terrorism. Terrorist activities are being witnessed along the Afghanistan border, the India-Pakistan-Afghanistan corridor, and other places.

This priority is particularly important for us, especially as we are actively working with India at the United Nations to advance a global counter-terrorism agenda. Its draft has already been prepared, although consensus has not yet been reached.

Lavrov said, “India’s presidency prioritizes issues of food and energy security, and information technology. India will host the Artificial Intelligence Summit, to which Russia has been invited, and we are actively contributing to the agenda.”
