Shreyas Iyer became captain, Dhruv Jurel got big responsibility, this team of India was announced

New Delhi: The selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given a big responsibility to Team India’s veteran batsman Shreyas Iyer. He has been made the captain of the India-A team. He will captain the team in the two four-day matches against Australia-A from September 16. Wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel has also got a big responsibility.

Many veteran players have been given a chance in this team. Wicketkeeper batsman Narayan Jagadeesan, who missed a double century in the semi-finals of the Duleep Trophy, has got a place in this team, while Rituraj Gaikwad has been ignored once again, even though he has scored a brilliant century in the semi-finals of the Duleep Trophy.


Shreyas Iyer, playing for West Zone in the semi-finals of the Duleep Trophy 2025, has been made the new captain of the India-A team. Apart from this, Sai Sudarshan, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Prasidh Krishna, who have played for Team India on the England tour, have also got a place in the team. Wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel has been made the vice-captain of the team.

Rituraj Gaikwad, who played a brilliant innings of 184 runs for West Zone in the semi-finals of the Duleep Trophy, has not got a place in the team. He has been overlooked once again. Apart from this, Ishan Kishan has also been overlooked. Australia-A will start their campaign in India from September 16.

The first of the two four-day matches between Australia-A and India-A will be played in Lucknow from September 16 to 19. The second four-day match will be played in Lucknow from September 23 to 26. After this, a three-match ODI series will be played in Kanpur from September 30 to October 5. The India-A team is yet to be announced for the ODI series. According to reports, Rohit Sharma may get a place in the India-A team for the ODI series.
