
New Delhi: Diplomats from seven countries want to witness the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. According to a statement issued by the Election Commission today, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar received a surprise call from Mosotho Moepya, Chairman of the Election Commission of South Africa. The statement said, “Moepya wished him well for the Bihar elections, which have approximately 75 million voters. He also informed that the South African MPs want to visit India soon to learn in detail about one of the most transparent and efficient electoral systems in the world.”
Delegation from Thailand arrives in Patna, learns about the voting process
It is noteworthy that under the International Voter Visitor Program, the Election Commission invites foreign guests/diplomats/representatives to India. As part of this initiative, 16 delegates from seven countries are in India to witness the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. All of them will observe the Election Commission’s arrangements. In the coming days, representatives from Indonesia, Colombia, the Philippines, France, Belgium, South Africa, and Thailand will be in Bihar. The first phase of voting is being held on Thursday. A delegation from Thailand visited a polling station in the capital, Patna, to gather information.
Foreign guests also visited a polling station in Nalanda.
The State Election Commission posted photos on its official Instagram handle, stating that the foreign delegation visited a polling station in Nalanda to learn about the electoral process.

It is noteworthy that a delegation of diplomats from Japan, Indonesia, Denmark, Bhutan, Australia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa is on a two-day visit to Bihar to observe the BJP’s election campaign, according to a report on November 3. The diplomats from the seven countries in the delegation attended PM Modi’s rally in Araria and met with party leaders. Vijay Chauthaiwale, in-charge of the BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department, said, “The delegation witnessed the strong participation and enthusiasm of the people during PM Modi’s public rally in Arrah.” He also interacted with party leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad, Dharmendra Pradhan and Vinod Tawde at the BJP headquarters in Patna.
