Varanasi: Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati has called the allegations against him false and baseless. He also expressed fear of his own murder. He was speaking to reporters at the monastery at Kedar Ghat on Thursday. Asked about filing an anticipatory bail plea, Shankaracharya said that the people at the ashram feared that the police might arrest him and take him to jail, where he could be killed with a poison injection.

He said that he himself was not in favor of filing for anticipatory bail, but the decision was made based on the sentiments of those associated with the monastery. All the allegations against him are false and fabricated. A person with a criminal bent fabricates a false story and presents it to the public, and the entire incident unfolds on that basis.

  • Shankaracharya stated that the investigation team is doing its work, but Ashutosh Brahmachari is presenting the investigation report to the media through a press conference. He questioned what the police are doing if a history-sheeter is making the investigation team’s report public.

He stated that reports related to the POCSO Act are generally not made public by law. If any information is shared, it should be from the police department. He stated that it appears that the Uttar Pradesh Police have made the complainant their permanent spokesperson. Responding to discussions about the monastery’s “Sheesh Mahal,” he said that anyone is saying whatever they want to. He added that it’s not a bad thing to have a mirror in a room. If the room is transparent, people outside can see inside, maintaining transparency.

Regarding the five-story building, he stated that it’s not something that can be hidden in a pocket. According to him, nothing is hidden in the ashram. He stated that if anyone wishes to view the ashram from the top, they may be permitted to view the entire premises without cameras. However, students study and reside there, so for their safety, entry with cameras cannot be permitted.

He stated that as a spectator, he is witnessing the extent to which India’s laws, judiciary, and governments can be misused. He alleged that the Epstein Files include the names of many prominent figures in the country, and that the public is being distracted by defaming them in order to suppress the matter.
