New Delhi: Corona infection is once again wreaking havoc in the world. Cases of corona infection are increasing rapidly in India including America, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand. Recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concern over the increase in new cases of Kovid. New variants of corona are spreading rapidly in many countries, due to which people are worried and scared. However, the situation is not as dire as it was last time. Still vigilance is necessary. Let us know what the World Health Organization (WHO) has said about the new variants of corona and what things we should keep in mind.
WHO has told that many new variants of corona are coming out. These include variants like NB.1.8.1, JN.1 and KP.2, which are a sub variant of Omicron. The NB.1.8.1 variant is currently spreading rapidly in China, America and some European countries. At the same time, cases of both sub-variants of Corona NB.1.8.1 and LF.7 have increased rapidly in many countries including India. Due to this, a rapid increase in infection has been recorded in India.
In view of the increasing risks, the World Health Organization (WHO) has now placed NB.1.8.1 in the category of Variant of Monitoring, till now it was kept as Variant of Interest, but the World Health Organization has placed it in Variant of Monitoring in view of the changing form of variants. That is, now this form of the virus needs to be given attention on a priority basis. While during the Variant of Interest, an attempt is made to understand the changes in the virus and its effect, in this category the variant is not much of a concern, but in Variant of Monitoring, attention needs to be paid to it.
According to the World Health Organization, this variant catches people very fast, but at present it does not cause serious illness or hospitalization. Even if the situation worsens, very few patients are hospitalized. Still, experts believe that it should not be ignored, because it cannot be said when the virus will change its form.
Epidemiologist Dr. Jugal Kishore said that in India too, there has been a jump in corona cases for the last few weeks. Some new cases have been reported in Maharashtra and Delhi. In most of these cases, people are feeling problems like mild cough, fever and sore throat. Very few patients have been hospitalized due to this disease.
In India, people already have a good herd immunity, so the cases of serious symptoms are very few. Apart from this, most people have received both doses and booster doses of the vaccine, due to which the situation is under control. WHO has asked all countries to strengthen their surveillance system more than before. Testing, reporting and genome sequencing should be increased. So that new variants can be detected on time. Also, people have been advised to be cautious.
Avoid going to crowded areas. If it is necessary to go, then go to these places wearing a mask. So that you can avoid the infected person or you do not infect anyone. Keep cleaning hands regularly. Whenever you come home from outside or are at home, keep cleaning your hands. Get tested if mild symptoms appear and isolate yourself if needed. People who have weak immunity can take a booster dose of the vaccine.
Even though the cases of corona are increasing rapidly in India, the situation is not scary. It is very important to be cautious. If you are going to a crowd, wear a mask. Take special care of the elderly and children. People who already have any disease like diabetes, high blood pressure or breathing problems should be alert and careful. Also, do not go out of the house.
