Washington. US President Donald Trump has once again claimed to stop the war between India and Pakistan. On Saturday, he said that this tension was reduced through trade agreements. Trump claimed, ‘The situation was serious between the two countries. Countries armed with nuclear weapons were taking action against each other. Planes were being targeted. I think 5 planes must have been shot down.’ The President claimed that he stopped this conflict by making trade a weapon.
Donald Trump said, ‘We have stopped many wars. The tension between India and Pakistan was increasing and it was getting bigger. We solved it through trade. We said that if you use weapons and perhaps nuclear weapons, then we will not make a trade agreement with you.’ Trump made a statement on destroying Iran’s nuclear program and said that we played an important role in it.
Trump had claimed earlier too
Earlier on Monday too, Trump had said that he stopped the conflict between India and Pakistan through trade which could have turned into a nuclear war. Trump said during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in the Oval Office, ‘We have been very successful in finding solutions during wars. You have the example of India and Pakistan. You have the Rwanda and Congo war which was going on for 30 years.’ He said, ‘The way India and Pakistan were moving ahead, a nuclear war would have broken out between them within the next week. The situation was getting worse very fast and we did this through trade. I said that until you resolve this issue, we will not talk to you about trade and they did so.’
