New Delhi: When will One Nation, One Election be implemented in the country? Big information has come to the fore on the completion of 100 days of the third term of the NDA government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had repeatedly said during the Lok Sabha elections that some big decisions would be taken in his third term. Sources have reported that ‘One Nation, One Election’ (ONOE) will be implemented during the current term of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA government.
On the completion of 100 days of Modi Government 3.0, sources said that One Nation, One Election will definitely be implemented in this term of the NDA government. This will be true. The Modi government is confident that it will get support across party lines in this matter and unity within the ruling coalition will remain throughout the term.
Let us tell you that in the first two terms of the NDA 2014-2024, BJP alone got absolute majority. However, this time BJP got 240 seats, which was less than the majority figure. On this, the dominance of NDA’s constituent parties increased in Modi Government 3.0. BJP had promised to bring One Nation, One Election in its manifesto.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his 11th consecutive Independence Day speech on August 15, appealed to political parties to help achieve the goal of One Nation, One Election. He described frequent elections as an obstacle in the development of the country. The committee headed by former President Ramnath Kovind submitted its report on One Nation, One Election to President Draupadi Murmu in March. The committee supported holding Lok Sabha and Assembly elections together.
