Ghaziabad. Mahant Yati Narasimhanand Giri of the famous Dasna Temple in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, is once again in the news for his controversial statements. He has now made several objectionable remarks about former President and great scientist Abdul Kalam, known as the country’s Missile Man. The Yeti not only accused him of sympathizing with Afzal Guru but also called him a jihadist. Surprisingly, the Yeti said all this in front of police officers who kept folding their hands before him.
Yati Narasimhanand had announced his intention to go to the Prime Minister’s residence on Monday. He wanted to demand the release of a white paper on Islamic jihad. However, the police prevented him from going to Delhi. What followed was a controversial statement by Yeti Narasimhanand, standing there, who began to make increasingly controversial statements. Calling his arrest by the police a murder of democracy, Giri said that Islam’s jihad is humanity’s greatest enemy, and that if it continues, the entire world will soon be destroyed.
He then went on to attack former President Abdul Kalam, calling him the most fanatic Muslim, accusing him of jihadism and meeting Afzal Guru’s family. Yeti said, “I met Afzal Guru’s family by breaking all protocols. There has never been a more fanatic Muslim in this country than Abdul Kalam. In the history of independent India, there is only one President who met the family of a criminal sentenced to death. Until Abdul Kalam met his family, Afzal Guru hadn’t filed a mercy petition. Abdul Kalam said, ‘File a mercy petition, I’m sitting here.’ The Congress government didn’t send the mercy petition through the Home Department until then, or else…” Yeti also used abusive language against the leaders who awarded Abdul Kalam the Bharat Ratna.
In front of the policemen who tried to stop him, Yeti Narasimhanand said that he (Abdul Kalam) could wage jihad as the head of all three armed forces, but even a lowly soldier could do nothing for the religion because our system is like that. Despite these comments, the policemen standing there were seen pleading with Yeti. Previously, Yeti had also made objectionable remarks about the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
