14 IPS Officers Transferred in MP; Sanjay Kumar to be New Bhopal Police Commissioner

Bhopal: The Home Department of the Madhya Pradesh government has issued orders for the transfer and new postings of 14 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, making a major reshuffle in the state police service. Sanjay Kumar, the IG of Balaghat Range, has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Bhopal city. The current Police Commissioner, Harinarayan Chari Mishra, has been posted as IG SCRB (State Crime Records Bureau).

The list, released on Thursday afternoon, includes changes in the responsibilities of several senior police officers. Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, a 1992 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as Special Director General of Police at CID Police Headquarters, Bhopal. He will also hold the additional charge of Special Director General of Police, Vigilance.

Anant Kumar Singh (1994): After returning from central deputation, he has been given the responsibility of Special Director General of Police/Managing Director, MP Police Housing Corporation.

New Responsibilities for These Officers:
Umesh Joga (1997): Joga, who was the ADG of Ujjain Zone, has been transferred to the Transport Department and appointed as Transport Commissioner, Gwalior.

Rakesh Gupta (1999): He has been removed from the post of Director, Sports and Youth Welfare and appointed as Additional Director General of Police, Ujjain Zone.

Vivek Sharma (1998): He has been recalled from the post of Transport Commissioner, Gwalior, and appointed as Additional Director General of Police, PTRI Police Headquarters, Bhopal. As a result of this order, ADG Mo Shahid Absar will be relieved of the additional charge of PTRI.

K.P. Venkateswara Rao (1995): ADG Technical Services, Police Headquarters, with additional charge of Anti-Naxal Operations.

D. Srinivas Verma (1997): ADG Narcotics, Police Headquarters, with additional charge of STF.

Anshuman Yadav (1998): Removed from ADG Police Headquarters and appointed as Director, Sports and Youth Welfare. Abhay Singh (2002): Transferred from IG Bhopal (Rural) Zone to IG (Planning) at Police Headquarters.

Sanjay Tiwari (2004): Transferred from IG (Planning) to IG Bhopal (Rural) Zone.

Ms. Chaitra N. (2006): Transferred from IG (SCRB) to IG Shahdol Zone.

Lalit Shakyaawar (2008): Transferred from IG Complaints and Human Rights to IG Balaghat Zone.
