New Delhi: Israel has launched a “preventive attack,” a precautionary military action, against Iran. Israel’s Defense Minister confirmed the operation on Saturday morning. The Israeli military also issued a “proactive alert” for its citizens, sounding sirens across the country to alert them to safety ahead of potential Iranian missile attacks.
Meanwhile, several loud explosions have been reported in Iran’s capital, Tehran. According to Iranian media and local witnesses, at least three explosions were heard in the central part of the capital. However, Iranian officials have not yet officially confirmed the attack or disclosed the extent of the damage.
This development comes at a time when negotiations are ongoing between Iran and the United States regarding their nuclear programs. The third round of talks between the two countries took place in Geneva on Thursday, and another round was scheduled for today. The military action has raised serious questions about diplomatic efforts.
US President Donald Trump had previously described Iran as “very difficult” and “very dangerous.” The US State Department on Friday authorized the evacuation of non-essential embassy personnel from Israel, citing a growing security threat.
West Asia is already experiencing tensions. This Israeli move, combined with reports of explosions in Tehran, has further exacerbated the situation. The world is now watching Iran’s potential response and the diplomatic situation ahead.
