White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said that President Trump will sign an executive order to extend the last date for exemption on reciprocal tariff from July 9 to August 1.
Let us tell you that Trump had announced to impose reciprocal tariff on many countries including India on April 2, but later gave a relaxation of 90 days as the protest increased. In this way, this exemption on tariff was July 9.
At the same time, America has also announced to increase tariff on 14 countries including Bangladesh and Japan. Under this decision of the Trump government, some countries have been taxed at 25 percent, while some have been charged heavy duty of 30 to 40 percent.
The Trump government has imposed the highest tariff of 40 percent on Myanmar and Laos. 36 percent tariff has been imposed on Thailand and Cambodia, 35 percent tariff on Bangladesh and Serbia, 32 percent tariff on Indonesia. 30 percent tariff has been imposed on South Africa and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the same time, 25 percent tax has been imposed on Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Tunisia. Along with this, America has so far done deals only with Britain and Vietnam.
