
Jhansi: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The younger son, along with his wife and sister-in-law, beat their 80-year-old mother with sticks and slaps over three bighas of land. The elderly woman, who somehow survived, arrived at the police station crying and sobbing with her elder son. Upon reaching the police station, the station in-charge, demonstrating humanity, made the elderly woman sit on a chair. After hearing the complaint, he initiated action by registering a case against the accused daughters-in-law and younger son under relevant sections.
The incident took place in Pelguwa, under the Sipri Bazaar police station in Jhansi district, where Mannu Devi, approximately 80, lives. Her husband, Mulayam Singh Yadav, has already passed away. The elderly woman has two sons, Mangal Yadav and Santram Yadav, both of whom are married. Elderly woman Mannu filed a written complaint at the Sipri Bazaar police station, stating that her husband, Mulayam Singh, died 20 years ago. After his death, 3 bighas of land was transferred to her. Now, her younger son, Santram, her elder daughter-in-law, Rammurti, and her younger daughter-in-law, Kunti, want to seize that land, even though the elder son serves them.
First, they beat her with sticks, then they forced her to drink dye.
The younger son, along with his wife and sister-in-law, beat her, starving her, and even making her do all the household chores. They also denied her food and threatened to kill her. On November 5th, when the elder son went to call the Panchayat, he was beaten with sticks.
Not only this, the two daughters-in-law and the younger son attempted to kill her by forcibly making her drink a glass of dye mixed in it. The Sipri Bazaar police station stated that a case has been registered based on the victim’s complaint and an investigation has begun. Further action will be taken after the investigation.
