IPL 2026: Title Clash Today Between Bengaluru and Gujarat; ‘King’ Kohli and ‘Prince’ Gill Face Off

The final of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2026 is scheduled to be played on Sunday, May 31, between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both teams, having delivered spectacular performances throughout this entire season, now stand just one step away from a title victory. RCB secured a direct spot in the final by defeating the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1.

In that match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar played a blistering innings, scoring 93 runs off just 33 balls. On the other hand, in Qualifier 2, the Gujarat Titans booked their place in the final by defeating the Rajasthan Royals. Shubman Gill smashed a magnificent century in the match against the Rajasthan Royals; Gill’s innings included 15 fours and 3 sixes. This marks the fifth time RCB has reached the IPL final, while the Gujarat Titans will be playing in the IPL final for the third time.



  • It was under Rajat Patidar’s captaincy that RCB won their first-ever IPL trophy in 2025. Meanwhile, in 2022, the Gujarat Titans claimed the trophy in their very first IPL season.

    The Gujarat Titans boast an impressive record at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This IPL season, playing on their home ground, Gujarat has won 5 out of their 7 matches. Consequently, the challenge facing RCB is certainly not going to be an easy one. Nevertheless, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli, as fans eagerly hope to see him lift the IPL trophy once again.

    This IPL season has been a formidable one for Virat Kohli as well. In 15 matches this season, Virat has scored 600 runs at a strike rate of 164.38, an tally that includes one century.

    Turning to RCB’s bowling attack, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has delivered an outstanding performance this season. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has taken 26 wickets in 15 matches this IPL season.

    Both opening batsmen for the Gujarat Titans are in excellent form. Shubman Gill has scored 722 runs in 15 matches this IPL season at a strike rate of 163.71.

    Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan has scored 710 runs in 16 matches this IPL season at a strike rate of 159.55. Speaking of Gujarat’s bowling attack, Kagiso Rabada has claimed 28 wickets in 16 matches and is currently leading the race for the Purple Cap. This IPL season, the two teams faced each other twice, and on both occasions, RCB emerged victorious.
