Big Break in TET Paper Leak: Alleged Mastermind Bijendra Gupta Arrested in Bihar After Months on the Run

New Delhi: In a major breakthrough in the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test paper leak investigation, police have arrested alleged mastermind Bijendra Gupta from Bihar after months of searching. Another accused was also taken into custody during the operation.

According to Maharashtra Police, Gupta had been evading arrest for several months despite repeated raids across multiple states, including Bihar. After sustained efforts by investigators, he was finally tracked down and arrested.

Gupta has been linked to several high-profile examination paper leak cases across the country. He had also come into the spotlight following the 2024 NEET paper leak controversy, when he allegedly made sensational claims about the functioning of paper leak syndicates and loopholes in the National Testing Agency’s security system during a sting operation by Aaj Tak and India Today.

Police Hope to Crack Wider Paper Leak Network
Investigating agencies said several accused, including Gupta’s wife, had already been arrested in connection with the Maharashtra TET paper leak. However, Gupta remained absconding, forcing police to conduct continuous raids in multiple locations.

With the alleged kingpin now in custody, investigators believe they may uncover crucial details about the larger paper leak syndicate, its members, and its methods of operation. Police have begun questioning Gupta and expect the interrogation to reveal key leads in the case.

Arrest Comes Amid Nationwide Student Protests
The arrest assumes greater significance as students continue protests across the country over examination paper leaks, including demonstrations at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Protesters associated with the CJP have been demanding strict action against those involved in paper leak rackets and comprehensive reforms to the examination system.

Investigators believe Gupta’s arrest could prove to be a significant step in dismantling organised paper leak networks and strengthening the ongoing crackdown on examination fraud.
