Amidst claims of a rift within the SP, Shivpal Yadav gets active; targets Rajbhar and Keshav in Etawah

June 19, 2026

Etawah: Samajwadi Party National General Secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav, while meeting party workers in Etawah, termed the Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies (such as Subhaspa) as ‘non-serious’. Directly accusing BJP members of the theft at the Ram Temple, he labeled them the biggest adharmis (unrighteous people) in history.

Shivpal Yadav demanded an impartial investigation into the theft and called for severe punishment for the culprits. He also hit back at Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya’s claim regarding SP MLAs defecting, stating that BJP leaders are making such statements merely to boost their TRP.

  • Cornering the government on the Ram Temple issue, the SP leader remarked that the people who committed the theft at Lord Ram’s temple belong to the BJP itself—a fact known to everyone. He stated that those who do not spare even Lord Ram’s temple are also looting the public; there can be no one more unrighteous than them. History will inevitably record that the theft at the temple was orchestrated by BJP members. He added that under this government, no work gets done without money, and the poor, farmers, and traders are all distressed by dishonesty and corruption.

Sharp retort to Keshav Maurya’s claim
Earlier, at an intellectual conference in Kanpur, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya had claimed that 25–26 SP MLAs and MPs were poised to defect and that the party would no longer remain under Akhilesh Yadav’s control. Responding sharply, Shivpal Yadav said that Keshav Maurya has never managed to defeat the SP; the Samajwadi Party has defeated him multiple times. He is making these statements solely to boost his TRP. Whenever he contests an election again, he will once more lose to the Samajwadi Party.
