June 25, 2025

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approved the rules for conducting the 10th board examination twice a year. From the year 2026, the 10th board examinations (CBSE 10th Board Exam) will be conducted twice a year by CBSE. CBSE Exam Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said that CBSE has approved the model of conducting examinations twice.

The first examination in the year will be held in February and the second examination in May. At the same time, the results of the examination to be held in February will be released in April and the results of the examination to be held in May will be released in June. Let us tell you that it will be mandatory for the students of 10th board examination (CBSE 10th Board Exam New Rules) to appear in the first examination and can participate in the board examination to be held for the second time at will. Students can participate in the second time to improve their marks. According to the new rules, internal assessment will be done only once a year.

When will the exams be held?

In the draft prepared by CBSE in February, it was said that the first phase of CBSE 10th board exam can be held between 17 February to 6 March and the second phase exams will be held from 5 to 20 May. Let us also tell you that the syllabus will be the same in the first and second phase exams and the full syllabus will be included. Along with this, the exam centers of all the students who will take part in both the exams will be the same.

If we talk about exam fees, then the fees for both the exams will have to be deposited at the time of registration. CBSE wants to give an opportunity to those students through the second exam, who want to improve their results after the exam once.

If a student takes part in both the exams of the year, then those marks which are higher will be considered final. If someone scores high marks in the first exam and low marks in the second exam, then the marks of the first stage exam can be considered final. Please note that students will be allowed to improve their performance in three subjects. If a student has not appeared in 3 or more subjects in the first exam, then he will not get a chance to appear in the second exam.
