FIR Against Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi Over Protest Clash; Police Allege Manhandling, Obstruction of Duty

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in connection with Wednesday’s protest in the national capital. According to police sources, the two leaders and several other Congress workers have been accused of allegedly manhandling police personnel and obstructing officials from carrying out their duties.

The FIR was registered following incidents reported during the Congress-led demonstration. Police said the case includes the names of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several other party leaders and workers who participated in the protest.

Police Probe Underway
According to police sources, investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged confrontation with police personnel. The roles of individual leaders and workers are also being assessed to determine who may have been involved in the alleged manhandling or obstruction of official duty. The allegations are part of an ongoing investigation, and the police have yet to establish individual culpability.

91 Detained During Wednesday Protest
The case comes a day after 91 people were detained during the Congress protest. The detainees reportedly included several Members of Parliament and other party leaders. Rahul Gandhi had led a street demonstration along with leaders of the INDIA bloc on Wednesday. During the protest, police detained Rahul Gandhi and several other MPs.

The latest FIR has now brought the protest into sharper focus, with the Delhi Police investigating the events and determining the alleged roles of those involved. The development is likely to intensify the political confrontation between the Congress and the authorities, with the opposition party continuing to raise its concerns through street protests.
