Green firecrackers can now be burst in Delhi, Supreme Court grants permission just before Diwali

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has issued a significant order allowing the sale and use of only green firecrackers certified by NEERI. The court clarified that the ban on the sale of these firecrackers will continue after this period and strict action will be taken against manufacturers and sellers for violating the rules.

The court also directed that green firecrackers can only be sold from designated locations by certified companies. Furthermore, QR codes will be mandatory on all green firecrackers so that consumers can verify their authenticity.

The court has directed the police and administration to form monitoring teams to ensure strict monitoring of the manufacture and sale of green firecrackers.

The court has also set time limits for bursting firecrackers. Green firecrackers can now be burst only between 6 am and 8 am and between 8 pm and 10 pm. The court issued this order to control environmental pollution and protect public health.

Following this order, the sale and use of green firecrackers will be strictly monitored in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
