New Delhi: At the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, India exposed Pakistan, strongly advising it to vacate illegally occupied areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Following a Pakistani diplomat’s baseless and provocative statement against India, Indian diplomat Kshitij Tyagi strongly criticized Pakistan for human rights violations and promoting terrorism.
In his statement, the Indian diplomat said that the UNHRC should be impartial and non-selective. He said that focusing on a select few countries distracts from the urgent and common challenges facing the world. He emphasized that lasting progress can only be achieved through dialogue, cooperation, and consensus among the countries concerned.
Pakistan abusing the platform – India
Tyagi then pointed to Pakistan, saying that a delegation that espouses this viewpoint is abusing the platform by making baseless and provocative statements against India.
He launched a direct attack on Pakistan, saying, “Instead of eyeing our territory, they should vacate the Indian territory they are illegally occupying and focus on saving their economy, which is on life support.”
He further said, “They should end their military dominance and improve their human rights record, which is tainted by abuses. Especially when they have time to export terrorism, harbor UN-designated terrorists, and bomb their own people.”
